A Halliburton Primer
Thursday, July 11, 2002
Following President Bush's demand for more corporate
accountability, public interest group Judicial Watch, Inc., filed suit against
Vice President Cheney and the Halliburton Company, alleging accounting fraud
during Cheney's stewardship of Halliburton in the 1990s. The U.S. Securities and
Exchange Commission is also investigating Halliburton's accounting practices.
Judicial Watch Sues Cheney, Halliburton (AP, July 10, 2002)
Following is a brief explanation of Cheney's involvement with Halliburton and
the pending lawsuit and SEC investigation. What is Halliburton Co." The
Dallas-based Halliburton Company provides products and services to the petroleum
and energy industries to aid in the exploration, development and production of
natural resources. Halliburton KBR, the company's engineering and construction
division, designs, builds and provides additional services for the energy
industry, governments and civil infrastructure. Halliburton employs 85,000
people in over 100 countries. Halliburton came under fire in the early '90s for
supplying Libya and Iraq with oil drilling equipment which could be used to
detonate nuclear weapons. Halliburton Logging Services, a former subsidiary, was
charged with shipping six pulse neutron generators through Italy to Libya. In
1995, the company pled guilty to criminal charges that it violated the U.S. ban
on exports to Libya. Halliburton was fined $1.2 million and will pay $2.61
million in civil penalties.

He
is gong into Iraq no matter what happens.
Mate---no
one more than I, wants this stupid act of illegal aggression against a sovereign
nation (which has made no act of aggression against any other nation) to go
ahead, however nothing will deter the Establishment.
This is not only about the oil, as many think, it is about the concept of
sovereignty. The notorious NAFTA,
MAI and GATS treaties to name a few of the faces of the move to destroy any
vestige of sovereignty, are means which have met very little acceptance by
countries which think strongly about their rights.
If you are not aware of the content of these so called 'trade
agreements', I heartily suggest you do some reading on the web about them
The
multinationals, which are overwhelmingly US based, do not want any restrictions
on what and where they can do their business, and so long as a concept of
sovereignty exists, they cannot run the world the way they want.
Once it is accepted that a country can be invaded and the established
government of that nation overthrown by force of arms on ANY pretext, then it is
only a small step to manufacturing a seemingly valid excuse to do it to any
other country---one which might be resisting giving up its right to regulate its
business affairs internally.
Cheers,
Bear

in mind that I had only a portion of the manuscript to proofread prior to
publication and a good many errors remain---since Dennis did not come into the
scene until very late, in the mid '80's. As
you are surely aware he had lots of people giving him their (mildly revisionist)
versions of what happened. I am not
entirely sure that my memories are completely free of that sort of bias, but in
most cases I was, at least in my mind, an objective observer.
I am perhaps the only one who was around continuously from Dec. 1965,
when the band was 6 months old to the present day.
The nearest is Ram Rod, but he came on board in '67.
That said, it is definitely the best effort to date.
Cheers,

CORDLEY SAYS THE LEFT IS VERY CHEAP

This
sucks no it does not work. Try www.indymedia.org
and click though rocky mountain is on the top of the menu bar. These are part of
the problem with cobbling things together.
The
Left is very cheap and they pay for it by loss of credibility. I have attempted
to address this but the Boulder Stazi laughs at me. Quality needs clear thinking
and ease of access. The Left has never paid their way out West. They live in
their Aspen Boulder enclave drive their Volvos and look on working people as
less than them. Last war they gave their media money to a dope dealer, when I
got word to Clark Clifford and asked for some of the left over Nam money he sent
back one word. BCCI.
I’ll
forward the two articles to you. I'm waiting to tow a car 50 miles for my
researcher. Cordley ##

DEVON WILSON ASKS ABOUT DEVON WILSON

Greetings!!!
I
found your e-mail address while looking up some information about Jimi Hendrix
and his groupies. I have been searching for information about Devon Wilson. I
have found limited information about her in the books 'Scuse Me While I Kiss The
Sky and Black Gold. I also found a little information about her in Groupie
Central.
In
Groupie Central they said she died in February 1971 and said she fell from a
window in the Chelsea Hotel. You said she died in March 1972 from an overdose.
Now, I'm wondering when did she actually die.
How
tall was Devon? Do you know how old she was? Was she younger than Jimi? Where
was she buried? Was her family located when she died?
Please,
answer me as soon as possible.
Yours
truly,
Devon Wilson ##

HI!
My name is Paula. I am a high school student at Elizabeth High School. I was
looking up some information about the poem, "Somebody Blew Up
America," and I came across this website. I noticed that the P.O.Box was in
Elizabeth. I was just wondering if this is Amiri Baraka. If it is would you
please contact me? I think my English teacher would like it a lot if you came to
our English class to speak about your poems. If this is not Amiri Baraka, could
you please tell me how to contact him? Thank you so much for taking your time to
read my e-mail. Please get back to me as soon as you can. Thank you.

COBWEBS BLOWN AWAY

Just
checked out your web site and loved it. Beginning to hear the real story of
Bush's complicity in 9/11 and to be honest I thought he just doesn't have the
intelligence---more of a cock up theorist
than a conspiracy theorist myself but am having the cobwebs blown away---if this
all true then Bush will be panned by the American people: if the mud sticks
he'll be hopefully impeached or worse.
Meanwhile
back in the UK we have our own asslicking Would-Be Warlord Tony Blair
Bin
Laden and his cronies are a bunch of medieval savages but Bush and Blair
certainly jumped to it with gusto after 9/11 if they didn't manufacture the
whole thing. !They are worse simply because they have more fire power. They're
like the Nazis with jet fighters and atom bombs. Stick me on your mailing list
and keep up the good work!
What
fun it is to talk treason!

GAS PAYS FOR TERRORISM
Subject:
Fwd: FW: GAS

Major
Consideration!!!
Every
time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of
Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the
Saudis. Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up
the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family,
and my friends. I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil
companies are the best to buy gas from.
Major
companies that import Middle Eastern oil (for the period 9/1/00-8/31/01).
Shell................ 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco....... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil......... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon............. 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco................ 62,231,000 barrels
If
you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION!
Here
are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Citgo
0 barrels
Sunoco 0 barrels
Conoco 0 barrels
Sinclair 0 barrels
BP/Phillips 0 barrels
All
of this information is available from the Department of Energy and can be easily
documented. Refineries located in the U.S. are required to state where they get
their oil and how much they are importing. They report on a monthly basis.
Keep
this list in your car; share it with friends. Stop paying for terrorism.........
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers.
It's really simple to do!! All
that has to happen is that each of us sends this e-mail to 10 other people. ##
